Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Company Policy and Advice
Dear Clients & Agents
We would like to keep you updated regarding our responsibilities and the actions we are taking as a business to protect our Clients and Cleaners in response to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
We have been keeping up to date with the latest Government and Public Health England advice, and as a result of the information and current guidelines published yesterday (10/5/2020) Cornish Maids Cleaning and Housekeeping will start to resume normal business for Domestic, Commercial & *Holiday Home clients with the new safety measures and guidelines that have now been released put into place. *Holiday Home Services will only include maintainance checks and preparation cleaning. Our full changeover service will resume once the ban on tourism is lifted.
The guidelines that have now been released from the Government regarding cleaners returning to work and the procedures that must be in place are as follows;
Cleaners & Housekeepers can now return to work providing that they are well, have no symptoms of the virus or been in contact with anyone who is showing sypmtoms of the Coronavirus. Also the occupants of the property / business are also well and are not showing symptoms of the virus.
Cleaners should notify all clients in advance of their arrival to the home or business. On entry to the property, they are advised to wash their hands using soap and water for 20 seconds. They should wash their hands regularly, particularly after blowing their nose, sneezing or coughing, and when leaving the property. Where facilities to wash hands are not available, hand sanitiser should be used, and should be carried at all times.
Cleaners must maintain a safe distance (at least 2 metres) from any occupants at all times, and ensure good ventilation in the area where they are working, including opening the window, the guidance says. The guidance also recommends keeping indoor work areas well-ventilated, washing clothes / uniforms regularly and wearing a face covering where it is not possible to keep a distance of 2 metres.
We would like to stress to our clients that we and all our cleaners & housekeepers will be following the advice and guidelines very closely and will continue to monitor the situation closely and we have also put into place our own daily checks with our staff to update us on their current health status and that of the clients they have visited throughout the day.
If any member of staff does begin to show symptoms or has come into contact with anyone showing symptoms of the virus they are to contact us immediately. This member of staff will be removed from duty until given the all clear by the relevant health authorities, this also applies to any client that has shown the symptoms.
